How to convert PDF text to Excel

Choose Editable to export selectable text into Excel, or Preserve appearance to put a picture of each selected PDF page in the file. Editable formatting may change, and graphics are not reconstructed.

What is the difference between the two export modes?

Editable creates real text or spreadsheet cells. Layout, reading order and table columns may change; graphics and formulas are not reconstructed. Scans need OCR first. Preserve appearance works with scans and uses page pictures; text is not separately editable, but the file is not password-locked.
