How to redact content in a PDF

Select a region to remove and confirm the redaction. The exported document is rebuilt from page images, discarding original text streams, form fields, attachments, and metadata.

  1. Open your PDF and choose Redact.
  2. Drag over the content to remove, then confirm the redaction.
  3. Repeat where needed, inspect every page, and download the redacted copy.

Will the redacted PDF still contain selectable text?

No. Every page becomes an image, so searchable text and form fields are removed. Review the exported document before sharing. Cropping or drawing a highlight is not a substitute for redaction.
